For unknown reasons, three of the four bags exited the flight on the stop-over in Frankfurt. When they weren’t on the baggage carousel our the over-sized baggage claim – the thought that they were being screened by customs was the logical explanation. However, after an hour of waiting the matter was investigated by Airport Services at Warsaw Chopin International Airport and they were found in the unclaimed baggage in Frankfurt and sent out on the next flight out.
7.5 hours later they were received in good order and although they have not been thoroughly unpacked and examined, fingers are crossed that all contents will be accounted for. The questions now is, should we initiate a claim for the delay over 2 hours that resulted in a missed connection into Ukraine? A former contact arranged transport and lodging by a lovely Warsaw family that have turned into a real blessing with connections that will come in handy once in Ukraine.
Waiting the 7.5 hours at the airport was an inconvenience but it all worked out in the end. What are your thoughts?
